FOAL encourages supporters to adopt a mustang

FOAL's mission is "To protect and preserve the wild horses of the McCullough Peaks", and we pride ourselves in working cooperatively with the local Cody BLM office to make sure this happens. Through our very successful PZP fertility control program, we are closing in on our goal of zero population growth, which will ultimately eliminate the need for future gathers. With the removal of these twenty horses, the herd number is now in the "appropriate management level (AML) range", with the next evaluation period scheduled for 2018. FOAL and ROTH join together to gentle and find homes for mustangs

Friday the 13th (of July) turned out to be a VERY lucky day for ten Wyoming wild horses, who made the 300 mile journey from Rock Springs to Cody, WY.  Five yearling geldings, three yearling fillies, a 5 year old gelding, and a 3 year old mare boarded two stock trailers at the BLM's holding facility and arrived at the ranch of Michaele Dimock five hours later. These untouched mustangs will be part of Anna Twinney's "Reach Out to the Untouched Horse" clinic, to learn basic skills in ground manners, picking up their feet for the farrier, trailer loading, and introduction to an obstacle course. ...

Yearling silver dapple colt, gathered from the Divide Basin HMA.  This colt will be gelded before arriving in Cody.   Yearling bay paint filly, gathered from the Green Mountain HMA. These are two of the Ten Wyoming mustangs, that will be coming to Cody, Wyoming to learn basic handling skills and hopefully find a "forever" home with loving adopters. FOAL acknowledges Marshall Dominick for outstanding leadership

The board of directors of FOAL would like to acknowledge Marshall Dominick for outstanding leadership as president of the board of directors since FOAL’s organizational meeting on April 18, 2005 through the January meeting of 2012. Seeing the McCullough Peaks Mustangs in need, Marshall was part of the small group that established FOAL to "protect and preserve the wild horses of the McCullough Peaks." Once established, Marshall led the small but growing group toward obtaining non-profit status in order to raise funds for the purchase of 160 acres adjacent to the McCullough Peaks Herd Management...
