Earth Day at Center of the West – Saturday, April 22, 2017 | 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Join FOAL for an afternoon of fun at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West.  The admission is free!

FOAL Board members will have a table set up to share information about the McCullough Peaks mustangs with you!

Here’s a schedule of events:
1. Enter a car in the Recycled Vehicle Race
Create a personalized and unique recycled vehicle from collected materials, and race the vehicle down a ramp against other cars during our Earth Day 2017 celebration. Participants will begin to learn the value of recycled materials as well as basic principles of speed and motion.

2. Earth Day Films in the Center’s Coe Auditorium
1:00 “Return of the River” (55 min)
2:00 “Secret Earth: Supervolcano” (45 min)
3:00 “Racing Extinction” (84 min)

3. Earth Day Exhibits and Open Lab
Community organizations and conservation agencies will have exhibits and activities to help people learn the importance of conserving the planet. The Center’s live raptors will be on display, and the Draper laboratory will be open for behind-the-scenes looks at how natural history museums help document life on Earth.

Hope to see you there!
