FOAL has developed projects with attainable goals.
We started out with smaller projects which were successfully completed and which helped to establish our credibility as a legitimate, grass-roots, hard-working group.
Here are some of those projects and we hope it will inspire you to develop your own attainable goals.
In the past...
Partnered with the BLM in field darting mares with an equine contraceptive inoculation to prevent conception of foals.
Purchased private property adjacent to the HMA which gives us a physical presence where the wild horses live and can be seen.
Partnered with the BLM, Marathon Oil and numerous others to develop reliable water sources within the HMA.
Partnered with the BLM and the local Audubon chapter to remove the bottom two strands of barbed wire from the HMA fences, which enabled the antelope to complete their migration.
Worked with Northwest College graphic art students to develop signs for an interpretive trail, which have been set up on the FOAL property.

Help clean up rocks, debris, and old fencing material in the HMA.
Volunteer to refurbish informational signs within the McCullough Peaks Herd Management Area.
Work with the BLM to open gates at the end of the cattle grazing season.
Give educational tours to visitors of all ages.
Fund the restoration of numerous reservoirs within the HMA.
Make presentations to local clubs and the general public.
Volunteer to fix fences.
Pay for water to be trucked to reservoirs during drought years.
Provide educational programs in local grade schools and museums.
Participate in Cody's 4th of July Parade.
Produce a bi-annual newsletter.
Organize an annual fundraising event.
